Who this course is built for

  • Total beginners

  • Kids & families

Short, playful skills with names like Alligator, Frog Kick and Wounded Duck keep practice light.

  • PE teachers & coaches

Play the videos for a class and run a full jump rope unit without demonstrating every move yourself.

  • Fitness skippers

Already skip for cardio? Add double unders, crosses, turns and combos to your sessions.

Why a rope is worth learning properly

Most people stop at the basic bounce. With some structure, the same cheap rope turns into a skill you can keep building on for years.

Very little gear, a lot of range

A rope fits in a coat pocket and works in a driveway, a gym hall or a garage. The course starts by helping you pick the right kind of rope and size it to your height, so the kit works for you from day one.

Timing & coordination

Every skill asks your hands and feet to agree on a rhythm, and you get better at it with each one.

Cardio you can scale

Go slow and steady, or work on the dedicated speed lessons once the basics feel easy.

Practise at home, on screen

Short videos with on-screen pointers such as “turn with wrists” let you watch, pause and copy.

A route into the sport

Later sections cover combos, the building blocks of competitive jump rope routines, plus power moves, rope wraps and releases.

How each lesson is built

Skills come one at a time, and every video is short. Most run about a minute, which makes it easy to watch, put the device down and try straight away.

  1. Watch the skill

A clean demonstration against a dark backdrop, with on-screen pointers that show where to keep your hands and arms.

  2. Fix the usual mistake

Trickier skills come with separate “Tip” videos aimed at the errors people tend to make, so you aren’t left guessing why the rope keeps catching.

  3. Test yourself

Levels 1 to 6 each finish with a skills test, which helps you check your progress and decide when to move on.

  4. Stack it into combos

The bonus sections show you how to string skills together, which is how freestyle routines are put together.

Questions before you start

Answers drawn from the course page. If something isn’t covered here, the course’s own FAQ and support email are the best place to ask.

I’ve never skipped. Is this too advanced?

No. The opening section covers choosing a rope, sizing and adjusting it, and taking your first jumps. Level 1 then starts with the double bounce and single bounce before anything fancier.

How long do I have access?

One year from the date of purchase. After that, you need to buy the course again to keep watching.

What devices does it work on?

The web version runs in a browser, so any phone, tablet or computer with an internet connection will do.

Can I use it on more than one device?

Yes, you can sign in on different devices. Content can only be viewed on one device at a time.

Does buying here include the iOS app?

No. The iOS app is a separate purchase from the App Store. The web version is what our links lead to.

I teach PE. Can I buy for a whole class?

The course page says schools with iOS devices can use Apple’s education volume purchasing for the app. Without iOS devices, schools are asked to contact Skipping Skills directly to get set up.

What do I need besides the course?

A jump rope that suits you and some clear space with a forgiving floor. The early lessons explain the kinds of ropes and how to size one to your height.

Can I try it before paying?

Yes. Several lessons, such as “How Skipping Skills Works” and the first skill of each level, are listed as free previews on the course page.

Your next trick is one short video away.

Start with Getting Started, work through the six levels at your own pace and keep the bonus library for when you want more.
